I ordered some fabric and paid for the custom cutting service, thinking it would be exact, but the piece I got was slightly off from the size I requested. It wasn’t a huge difference, just enough to mess with what I was working on and be a bit frustrating. Maybe it shifted a little when they were cutting it, I’m not sure, but it definitely wasn’t as precise as I expected. Delivery was fine and the fabric itself was nice, so no complaints there. I just don’t think I’d bother with the custom cut option again

"Length felt a little off"
I ordered 3 metres, but when I measured it at home it seemed a bit short. The fabric itself was fine, no real complaints there, but it was just one of those things that really bothered me because I needed the exact length for my project. Not a huge disaster, but definitely frustrating.

I ordered some fabric and thread after going through the product details on the site, it all matched up well. The colors and sizes were basically what I expected, the fabric maybe looked a little brighter in the photos, but not enough to be an issue.
I did ask support about the material before ordering, and they basically said “the listing is true to the actual item,” which turned out to be right. I’d probably give it 5 stars if there was a bit more detail about the thickness, but overall there were no surprises.

I had a little issue with my order so I emailed customer service, they got back to me quicker than I expected?? They sorted it out without making a big deal of it, and the person replying was really friendly. It actually felt like they’d read my message properly, which shouldn’t be rare but kind of is?? I’d definitely use empressmills.co.uk again

I ordered a mix of fabrics and a few extra bits from Empress Mills, and it all arrived exactly as it should. No missing items, no wrong colours, and everything was nicely labelled.
I was a bit unsure because it was a mixed order, but you know how nice it is when everything matches what you picked online and you don’t have to chase anything up. Really straightforward experience.

"Better than I expected for finding what I needed"
I was expecting to have to dig around a bit, but the Empress Mills site was much easier to use than I thought it would be. The menus were straightforward, and I found the fabric and haberdashery sections without endless clicking.
The search did the job, pages loaded quickly on my phone, and checkout was painless. It was a nice surprise compared with some craft sites I’ve used, so I’d happily order from them again.

I ordered some thread and it actually showed up sooner than I thought it would, which was a nice surprise. The packaging was perfectly fine too, nothing fancy, but the spool was secure and the outer envelope wasn’t crushed or anything. My only small gripe is that the tracking email came through a bit late, so I’d already started wondering where it was before the update arrived. Otherwise, all good.

My fabric did arrive safely, and it was wrapped really well with no damage at all, so I’m happy about that. I’ll admit I was a little unsure what to expect, so while the packing was good, I’m still feeling a bit cautious about ordering again.

"Payment was fine, but the options felt limited"
I ordered from Empress Mills and, to be fair, the payment did go through without any drama. But i was a bit annoyed by how limited the payment options felt. These days you kind of expect choices like PayPal or some sort of pay-later option, especially when so many other sites offer them. It wasn’t a terrible experience or anything, just a bit underwhelming and kind of frustrating when you’re used to having more flexibility.

I had to send back some fabric because I’d managed to order the wrong colour. I have zero patience for complicated returns, but this was really straightforward. They processed the refund quickly and there wasn’t any hassle or back and forth. Much appreciated, and I’d happily order from them again

"Decent in the end, but the tracking made me nervous"
My order did arrive in the end and the fabric was totally fine, so no issue there. The only thing that stressed me out was the delivery tracking, it didn’t update for a few days, and I started worrying my parcel had gone missing or that I’d end up losing out on what I paid for. Customer service did get back to me when I asked, which helped a bit. Overall, not a bad experience, just more frustrating than it needed to be because I didn’t have clear info while waiting.

I had an item on backorder, i still remember feeling a bit worried at first because I didn’t want to keep chasing for updates. But they actually kept me in the loop the whole time, which was a relief. The emails were clear, and it showed up right when they said it would. It made the whole thing feel easy instead of stressful. Really happy with how they handled it, and I’d definitely order from them again.

I ordered a few bits from Empress Mills and it was fine overall, but I’m not sure it really felt worth the money. The prices seemed reasonable at first, but once postage was added it felt a bit steep. The quality was okay, just nothing that really stood out. I also found it a little confusing because the website seemed to suggest one thing, but by the time I got through the order it felt like something else, especially around the total cost. Delivery wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t exactly quick either. I’ve bought similar items elsewhere for less, so I probably wouldn’t be in a hurry to order again unless there was a decent sale on

"Refund took a bit longer than I expected"
I ordered from Empress Mills but ended up having to return it. The refund did come through in the end, so no issue there, but it took longer than I thought it would. I had to follow up once, and support basically said something like, “It’s being processed, just allow a bit more time.” Fair enough, but it was still a bit annoying having to chase

I was a bit nervous at first because colours online can be so hit or miss, but when it arrived I was instantly relieved. Then I got weirdly excited because it was pretty much spot on, no surprises, just exactly what I hoped for.

I was trying to order a few fabrics and found a bunch I really liked, but about half of them ended up being out of stock. The site itself was easy enough to browse, so no issue there, it was just a bit frustrating when the nicer colours weren’t available. If you’re planning a project, I’d say have a few backup options ready before you get too set on anything.

i liked that the shipping price was shown clearly before checkout. there wasn’t any guessing or random extra fee popping up at the end. it just made ordering feel easier and a lot less annoying.

"Loyalty rewards felt a bit underwhelming"
I’ve ordered from Empress Mills a few times now, so I joined the loyalty rewards thinking it might be a nice little extra if I was going to keep coming back.
To be honest, I found it a bit disappointing. The points don’t seem to build up to much, and I wasn’t totally sure what I could actually use them for without clicking around the site. I even wondered if I was missing something, because I’d be interested to know if other regular customers have found it more useful.
The fabric itself has been fine, so this isn’t really about the products. It’s more that the rewards scheme didn’t make me feel especially valued as a repeat customer. I think it could be explained more clearly and made a bit more worthwhile.
