"Innacurate stock levels, slow to communicate."
Website states 1-3 days delivery. A week after I placed an order, I chased it up as it hadn’t arrived, only to be told part of the order was unavailable. I requested a replacement only to be told that was also out of stock. Another later order suffered the same fate, and although the matter was eventually resolved by helpful staff, I won’t be using this company again. What is the point of a website with inaccurate stock levels?
I also found the original item much cheaper elsewhere. Lesson learned… shop around!

I have been shopping with Empress Mills for some time now and am always really pleased with the price, range and quality of their products. The speed with which I receive my order is excellent and they package with great care. All of this along with the best customer service I have received in a long time makes this company my favourite online fabric seller. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

"Very poor quality fabric!"
Very sorry to say my first order of 1 metre of fabric, which was to check out the quality prior to ordering a large quantity of fabric was beyond awful! Definately not the description given by Empress Mills website, a very smelly, poor quaity, dirty metre of supposedly linen tat received! At a cost of £19. I feel totally ripped off

"Great Customer Service"
So helpful when I telephoned with a query on an order ....alternative fabric quickly sourced and despatched, and arriving the following day. Good old fashioned customer service. Will definitely be ordering again in the future.

"Woefully poor delivery."
Woefully poor delivery. Ordered fabric for next day delivery, on the 14/12/22 the fabric finally arrived today, 18/12/22.
Its just not good enough. The courier they use has a tracking system which offers no information and they are almost impossible to contact via email or phone.
The lack of information is totally frustrating and leaves the customer helpless.
I did get a refund of £6.50 making the postage charge first class, but 4 days for first class post, way too long, definitely not a first class service.
Empress are good at excuses, sadly not so good at delivering a speedy service.
I would use again, but only if desperate and I won't be expecting the goods to arrive in a timely fashion.
Sadly I cannot recommend.

"Excellent service again. I received my parcel this morning"
I received my parcel this morning, exactly 24 hours from ordering. Very pleased with the quality of goods. As usual the lady taking my order yesterday was both helpful and cheerful. I always recommend Empress mills to sewing friends.

"Quick delivery and exactly as described"
I ordered 2 pieces of material and some thread on Friday afternoon and chose the cheapest postage available (2nd class Royal Mail). All items arrived today (the following Wednesday). Very impressed with the service and speed of delivery, and the material looks exactly as described. Very happy.

I have purchased from the company for several years and always received excellent personal service. Just received another order here to France (after the new Brexit changes) and again without any problems. I was kept advised of the progress of my order.
When I have a project in mind i only have to email for advice and either Charles or Christine always reply with suggestions for materials, thread and new haberdashery aids. For anyone who does quilting or other fabric crafts they are a one-stop company.

"Painfully Slow Dispatch"
Have ordered from them twice in the last year and it’s safe to say never again. They are so very slow to dispatch (over a week) when their website says 1-3 days, if it’s taking over a week due to COVID make that clear and I wouldn’t have ordered. They blame COVID and have been the whole time, their staff must have all had covid about 8 times in the past year!
My other supplier I use for fabric dispatches same day and gives next day delivery for free, lesson learnt stock with what I know!

I've ordered paint online and received the above mentioned confirmation. It has been six weeks and the parcel has not arrived yet. I have sent numerous emails, and Ariana eventually answered:

I am so so sorry for the delay in replying to you.
Since New Year we have struggled badly with staff absences caused by Covid and Covid isolations - far worse than in the initial stages of the pandemic.
I can see your order has left us on the 16th of December. Unfortunately due to the size and value of the order it has left Airmail and not by courier. If you have tried ringing up you local sorting/post office and haven't located your parcel it is more than likely it went astray with the Christmas post.
We would either try and re-send the order, or issue a refund.
I asked for the parcel to be resend, but have not received any notification that it has been done!!!!! My question thus: who collects the parcel in South Africa at the airport or is it being send to the Post Office directly?? Our local post office say that they cannot assist me without a tracking number. I am truly desperate for answers and the paint!!

AVOID, appalling customer service, very rude. Never received my order and only got a refund after telling them that I was going to take it further. They don't reply to emails or answer the phone.

"Slow"
Website states orders despatched within1-3 days.My order was placed on 18/10/21. I chased it a week later and received a response advising it was being despatched that day. No explanation, no apology. Post Office made first delivery attempt 29/10.
I ordered some fabric from a supplier in Germany at the same time. I have received that and made up the garment already. No prizes for guessing who I will be using in the future.

Have purchased from empress now for couple years , always found to be helpful with communication , delays with orders during lockdown , so ordered before I ran out of what needed. Great prices .

"Excellent customer service"
Excellent customer service. I placed an order for next day delivery and quickly realised I’d forgotten something. Phoned, answered quickly and no problem adding to my order even though it hadn’t been logged on their system yet. All items arrived at 9am the following day. Happy with the price for what I ordered, I wouldn’t normally pay for next day delivery (£11) but I needed my items next day so happy to pay on this occasion. Would highly recommend Empress Mills.
